THE WARNING AGAINST BLASPHEMY OF <

                       THE HOLY GHOST

99        THOSE WHO THINK THE BORN AGAIN CAN LOSE THEIR SALVATION

HAVE FALLEN INTO THE TRAP THAT WAS  FOREWARNED BY THE PROPHETS. Acts 13:37-41, John 3:16

“He whom God raised again, saw no corruption.  Be it known unto you men and brethren that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins .… Beware, lest that come upon you which was spoken of in the prophets; saying, Behold ye despisers, and wonder; and PERISH: for I will work a work in your days, a work that you shall in NO WISE BELIEVE though a man declare it unto you. (That God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not PERISH but have everlasting life.)  For by him all that BELIEVE are justified from all things from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.”

After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Jews had to grapple with a disturbing message called the gospel, which means the good news.  The message was  that Jesus, the Jewish Nazarene,  whom their religious leaders ordered crucified, had reportedly risen from the dead.  The new message, called the gospel, told the Jews  that only by believing in him, without any consideration of Moses’ law, could  they hope to have eternal life. (Gal. 2:16) The Jews’ religious leaders considered this heresy and foolishness. (Acts 24:14)  The prophets, of old, had forewarned the Jews that God would  “work a work” in their days and they would “in no wise believe though a man declared it” unto them. (Acts 13:41, Hab. 1:5)

“For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to them

that perish.” (1 Cor. 1:18)

Just in case you don’t know the “work that was worked” was salvation by grace through faith in Christ’s death and the work of his resurection, apart from keeping Moses law.  (1 Pet. 1:10)

The prophets forewarned Israel of this stumbling block and trap that lay ahead of  them.  King David prophesied of the curse that would fall upon his people for their blindness to their Messiah, writing:

“Let that which should have been for their welfare [the Law]

let it become a trap, and stumbling stone…” (Ps. 69:22-28)

Traps always look deceptively harmless yet enticing. During this dispensation of the New Testament, the Law is revered by both sinner and saint as the “way that seems right unto a man” to gain eternal life. The average man thinks  obeying the Commandments is a way to gain access into heaven, and that is the trap!  Its natural for men to think that following God’s holy Law is the way to heaven, which  is why the majority of people shall perish. (Hosea 4:6)  As it is written, “For by the works of the law shall no flesh living be justified.”  (Gal. 2:16)  Herein lies its trap.  One violation of God’s holy law, by the slightest infraction in the remotest of its 613 points, triggers this trap and makes you “guilty of all” and a candidate for “everlasting fire.”  This is “the curse of the law.” (Matt. 25:41, Gal. 3:10)

Solomon prophesied of this trap that was predicted  by the prophets, writing:

“There is a way which seems right unto a man but the

end thereof is the ways of death.” (Prov. 14:12)

The law was called the “ministration of death.” (2 Cor. 3:7)  In Acts, the Apostle Paul reminded the Jews that this aforementioned trap would cause them to perish.  Paul knew more about this  deadly trap than any of the apostles, because it almost snared him in the  damnation of hell. (Matt. 23:33)  Concerning Moses’ Law of Commandments, Paul wrote:

“The Commandment which was ordained to life, I found to be

unto death.  For sin taking occasion by the commandment,

deceived me, and by it slew me.” (Rom. 7:10-11)

After seeing how he almost lost his own soul by falling into the snare  of obeying the Law of Commandments for salvation, Paul spent the rest of his life preaching and writing letters warning others  about this trap.  Paul wrote:

·        “the strength of sin is the law [which is the trap].” (1 Cor. 15:56)

·        “if righteousness could come by the law [which is the trap], “Christ is dead.” (Gal. 2:21)

·        “the law [which is the trap] is not of faith.” (Gal. 3:12)

·        “the law [which is the trap] is the “ministration of death written in stones.” (2 Cor. 3:7)

·        “the letter” of the law [which is the trap] “killeth.” (2 Cor. 3:6)

·        “the law [which is the trap] made no thing perfect.” (Heb. 7:19)

·        “no man is justified by the law [this trap] in the sight of God.” (Gal. 3: 11)

·        “as many as are under the works of the law [the trap] are under the curse.” (Gal. 3:10)

·        “the law [which is the trap] makes the whole world guilty before God. (Rom. 3:19)

·        “a man is not justified by the works of the law [the trap].” (Gal. 2:16)

·        “by the works of the law [the trap] shall no flesh living be justified.” (Gal. 2:16)

·        “whosoever is justified by the law [the trap] has fallen from grace.” (Gal. 5:4)

·        “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law [the trap].” (Gal. 3:13)

Paul communicated:

“My heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might

be saved.  For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God,

but not according to knowledge.  For they being ignorant of God’s

righteousness go about to establish their own righteousness and have

not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God which is by faith.

That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus and believe

in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be

saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with

the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  (Romans 10)

This is the message whereby the prophets foretold that the Jews would “in no wise believe though a man declare it unto them.” (Acts 13:41)  Unfortunately, the prophets were right – for  the Jews considered this message of Jesus Christ’s death, blood, and  resurrection as foolishness for “the preaching of the cross is foolishness to them that perish.” (1 Cor. 1:21) To this day, Israel is blinded to her  Messiah and consequently has  made herself an enemy  of the gospel that was preached unto her people first, according to Paul the “Hebrew of Hebrews.” (Phil. 3:5)

“As it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber,

eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not

hear; to this day.  And David saith, Let their table be made

a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompense

unto them: That blindness, in part, is happened to Israel unto

Israel until the fulness of the gentiles be come in.” (Rom. 1:16)

Sadly, many non-Jewish ministers today fall into this same trap by believing that the commandments are unto life.  However, when they violate one of them, they too will find it “to be unto death;” the second death. (Rom. 7:10, Rev. 2:11)  Eternal salvation is only by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, and not through obeying the Law of Commandments.  I leave you the prophets warning concerning Jesus and the trap:

“I certify you brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.   For neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.  Now though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that  which we have preached, let him be accursed.  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that which ye have received let him be ACCURSED.”  (Gal. 1:8-9)

“He whom God raised again, saw no corruption.  Be it known unto you men and brethren that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins… Beware, lest that come upon you which was spoken of in the prophets; saying, Behold ye despisers, and wonder; and PERISH: for I will work a work in your days, a work that you shall in no wise BELIEVE though a man declare it unto you. (That God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not PERISH but have everlasting life.)  For BY HIM all that BELIEVE are justified from all things from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.” (Acts 13:37-41, John 3:16)

You have been warned.

100    WHAT ABOUT THE SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS IF YOU BLASPHEME THE HOLY

GHOST YOU CAN NEVER BE FORGIVEN?  Mark 3:28

“Verily I say unto you, all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and

blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall

blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger

 of eternal damnation.”

The church world has rampant opinions about what  blasphemy of the Holy Ghost actually is; from  teaching against the speaking in tongues to  mocking  those who shout in church services.  These may or may not be classified as blasphemy, but they are not  blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.  Many born again believers fear they are guilty of committing this unpardonable sin.  They have such fears because they have allowed their natural minds to wrestle this Scripture to their faith’s destruction. (2 Pet. 3:16)  These believers fail to understand that there is a difference in how the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is committed during our dispensation of grace, as oppose to how it was committed under the Law, because at that time the Holy Spirit had not yet come. (John 16:13)            During the dispensation of the Law, Jesus proclaimed “the Spirit of the Lord is upon me,” and began listing the messianic signs, wonders, and miracles that were “works of the Spirit of God” given to identify Jesus as Israel’s Messiah.  When the scribes and Pharisees saw those works, they became afraid that “the whole world would go after” Jesus, so they spoke against the Spirit’s works that would lead people to Christ, saying those works were of the devil. (Mark 3:28)  When they spoke against the works of the Spirit of God that depicted Jesus Christ as Savior (Messiah), Jesus Christ brought up this issue of “blaspheming the Holy Ghost,” during the dispensation of the Law. (Luke 7:22, Mark 3:22-28)  In like manner, people commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit during our dispensation of Grace when they speak against the Holy Spirit’s work to lead them to Christ as their Savior.  Jesus told us the Holy Spirit would come for one mission.  The mission of the Holy Spirit is not to testify  how he can fill  us or give  us spiritual gifts.  Jesus declared the Holy Spirit’s mission is to glorify him (Jesus), and testify of him (Jesus). (John 16:14, 5:39)  People cannot come unto Jesus unless God’s spirit draws them.  Jesus announced that when the Holy Spirit comes,

“he will reprove the world of sin, because they believe not on me.” (John 16:8-9)

As gentle as a dove, the Holy Spirit repeatedly reproves “in meekness those that oppose themselves” that they may “recover themselves out of the snare of the devil” by receiving salvation. (2 Tim. 2:25)  Solomon warned, “he, who is often reproved and still hardeneth himself shall suddenly be cut off without remedy.”  This is why, “In the day you hear his voice harden not your hearts, because now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation.  (Heb. 4:7, 2 Cor. 6:2)  The world always claims  they have never heard the voice of God speak to them.  This is not true, for the Scriptures record that whenever you present the plan of salvation to a sinner (the unbelieving lost):

“it is not ye that speaketh, but THE HOLY GHOST.” (Matt. 13:11)

Who is speaking?  The Holy Ghost.  Therefore, when you share the gospel with someone and he or she “speaks against” the Spirit’s testimony to believe in Jesus Christ for eternal life, they have not rejected you, but the Holy Spirit’s testimony of Jesus Christ gave by you.  It was in this exact context, referencing the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost, that Jesus declared, “by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” (Matt. 12:32-37)  If you die speaking against the Spirit’s work to draw you to Christ Jesus for salvation, then “by thy words thou shalt be condemned,” eternally.  Imagine on Judgment Day, when you stand before God and the books are opened, and it is read that in the year 19_ _ and or 2_ _ _  a Christian asked you to believe in Jesus Christ, so you would not spend an eternity separated from God’s love. (Rev. 20:12)  Then, with a simple grin, you answered, “I’m sure glad that works for you, but I’m comfortable with my present belief system.”  Then, “by thy words (such as these) thou shalt be condemned,” because they are words of unbelief.  (John 16:18-9, Rev. 21:8)                     God’s plan of salvation mandates that you must “confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, and thou shalt be saved.” (Rom. 10:9)   If you performed the above, then “by thy words thou shalt be justified,” for “with the mouth  confession is made unto salvation.” (Matt. 12:32-37, Rom. 10:10)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  For no man can say Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.                                                    For with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (1 Cor.                                              12:3, Rom. 10:10)

The Holy Spirit has always worked to lead souls to Christ. According to Scripture, Jesus was:

declared to be the Son of God with power according to the

spirit of holiness, by his resurrection from the dead.” (Rom 1:4)

The Holy Spirit demands that “all men everywhere” believe this.  For “if Christ be not raised we are yet in our sins and of all men the most miserable,” for our salvation hinges on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and not on the lives we live since our righteousness is counted as filthy rags.  Those who receive Jesus as their savior have Christ born in their hearts as their perfect life before God. (Eph. 3:17, 1 John 3:9)  This only comes by “the Spirit of grace” testifying of Christ to bring you to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, your only kingdom claim to Glory. (2 Pet. 1:21, Col. 1:27)

The Scripture records that:

Christ is our life.  (Col. 3:4)

He is our life before God that cannot sin, much less commit  blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, because he is born of God.  (1 John 3:3, 9)  The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is when “the grace of God that bringeth salvation” appears to a soul, and that soul dies speaking against the Holy Spirit’s work to bring it to a confession of faith in Christ Jesus for the free gift of salvation. (Titus 2:11)   That soul dies having committed:

blaspheme against the Holy Ghost and hath never forgiveness,

but is in danger of eternal damnation, having done despite to

the spirit of grace. (Mark 3:29, Heb. 10:29)

Furthermore, no one can believe the message of Christ except the spirit of God draws him or her. (John 15:26, 16:13-14)  When people die rejecting the coaxing of the  Spirit that would  lead  to a saving faith in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation, then Christ died in vain for those souls. (Gal. 2:20)  He might as well  have stayed in heaven and spared himself the pain and suffering of dying on the cross  for their sins, because they chose to die in their sins.  For God cannot accept anyone on any premise other than they believed in the death, blood, and resurrection of his Son Jesus Christ to receive eternal redemption from sin and life eternal. (Acts 4:12)  As Jesus stated, “If you do not believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” (John 8:24)   This lets the world know that:

THE ONLY UNFORGIVABLE SIN IS NOT TO RECEIVE THE FORGIVENESS                                                                             OF SINS!”

Therefore, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved.” (Acts 16:31) The invitation stands open to all:

“Come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest,

whosoever, believes on me shall not perish but have eternal life.”

                                                                        Jesus Christ

Note:  The only people who lose their salvation are those who never received it. It was theirs for the taking, bought and paid for by the death, blood, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 5:19) This placed your name in the Lamb’s book of life.  Those who refuse to believe in Christ for salvation shall have their name blotted out of this book of life and die in their sins, forever separated from the love of “the true and the living God.”  Therefore, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be given the free gift of eternal life reserved in heaven for you.
